Funeral Scenario Examples<\/h3><\/div>

There are many scenarios when considering costings for a funeral, some example scenarios have been placed below to provide you with a guide on estimated costs:<\/p>\n<\/div>

Scenario 1<\/h2><\/div>

The person who passed did not want to have a funeral. <\/strong><\/p>\n

They didn\u2019t want to cause any fuss or bother for those left behind. Wanting to respect this decision the family opted for a no-service cremation. This meant that we transferred the loved one from the hospital where they died, brought them back into our care, took care of all the legal requirements such as gathering the medical and cremation documentation and permissions, registered the death, and then proceeded with the Direct Cremation using an essential care coffin. There was no viewing or notice placed in the paper, nor flowers or service held.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Scenario 2<\/h2><\/div>

The family decided to have a memorial service at the local rugby club with only the ashes urn present. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Instead of having the emotional difficulty of a coffin being present during the service, family chose to have a private cremation prior to the service and have their loved ones ashes (or nothing at all) at their local rugby club where the loved one spent a lot of time. A celebrant led the service and they organised a small arrangement of flowers to join photos on a tribute table.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Scenario 3<\/h2><\/div>

The family decided to have a funeral at our Chapel at Sylvan Funerals followed by refreshments in the catering lounge. Cremation happened privately after the service. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The family want a celebrant to lead the service, need Order of Service Booklets and have a slide show that we prepare for them. The service is going to be streamed live online for a grandson living in New Zealand. They choose a standard casket (the \u2018Lambeth Coffin\u2019) and have a small casket spray for their flowers. They are expecting about 50 people and have opted to have the cremation private.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Scenario 4<\/h2><\/div>

The family want the service at their local church, led by their minister. Followed by private cremation. <\/strong><\/p>\n

After the funeral service everyone will say goodbye at the hearse before it drives off for a private cremation. Refreshments will be served in the church hall and these have been arranged by the members of the church (we could have provided this service, but the family opted to use the church volunteers). The family choose a simple coffin (the \u2018Flinders Teak\u2019) with a large colourful casket spray. We prepared Order of Service Booklets which include the words to the hymns to be sung. They are expecting about 100 people. Following the cremation the ashes are to be placed in a simple wooden urn which the family will inter in an existing plot at the cemetery.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Scenario 5<\/h2><\/div>

The family want a Chapel (or Church) service followed by burial at the local cemetery. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The service is to be led by a celebrant (or Minister) at a location of family\u2019s choosing and at the end of the funeral service everyone will move to the local Cemetery for a burial in a new plot. The family selected a casket made from solid timber (the \u2018Blackwood Coffin\u2019). They have a family friend who is a florist and offers to provide the flowers. We provide Order of Service Booklets, but the grandson of the person who died creates the slide show. We organise AV equipment and sound system hire for the venue. They are expecting about 100 people.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
